Best Time to Visit Batumi

Georgia's subtropical seaside capital — beaches, boulevards, and Vegas-style skyline.

June through mid-September is Batumi swim season — water 23–26°C, air 28–30°C. Late July and August are also peak crowds and peak prices. Our pick is early June or mid-September: warm enough to swim, half the crowds.

Winter Batumi is 8–10°C warmer than Tbilisi (10–12°C days) and virtually empty. Not for beach time but great for cheap hotels and quiet Old Town wandering.

Highlights

  • Early June: swimmable water, few crowds — our top pick
  • July–August: peak crowds, 30°C+, book hotels 2 months ahead
  • September: our second pick, warm sea, empty beaches after mid-month
  • October–November: rainy but atmospheric, cheap hotels
  • December–March: 10°C, quiet, palm trees + occasional snow (photogenic)
