Black Sea Coast & Mountains

Adjara 旅行指南

Georgia's subtropical coast — Batumi's beaches plus green mountain villages.

Adjara is the autonomous region in Georgia's southwest corner, wrapping around Batumi and stretching into the Lesser Caucasus mountains along the Turkish border. Most travelers see only Batumi and the coast, but the interior — the Adjaristsqali Valley, Machakhela National Park, and the villages of upper Khulo — offers dramatic waterfalls, medieval stone-arch bridges, and Georgia's greenest mountain scenery. In summer the coast is packed; the mountains stay 10°C cooler and empty.
